Amy L. Nelson, PhD, serves as Vice President, Digital Marketing & Marketing Operations at MedVet. She joined the organization in 2025.
In this role, Amy is responsible for managing the comprehensive plan to attract new clients to MedVet, leveraging different types of digital marketing, including paid media, search engine optimization, online reputation, and videos. As part of her role, Amy will lead performance analytics for MedVet’s Marketing, ensuring campaigns meet performance goals. She will also work on simplifying marketing processes utilizing our technology tools to improve the efficiency of Marketing operations in support of our hospitals.
Before joining MedVet, Amy was Vice President of Performance Marketing at Big Lots, where she oversaw Customer Relationship Marketing (CRM), loyalty and credit programs, paid media, customer analytics, and marketing technology. She previously held leadership roles at Abercrombie & Fitch (A&F), where she created and launched loyalty initiatives, addressable marketing efforts, and test-and-learn programs for both the A&F and Hollister brands. Her earlier career includes marketing positions at Bath & Body Works, Victoria’s Secret, and Bread Financial. Amy is passionate about customer marketing, with more than 20 years of experience.
Amy graduated from The Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in sociology, in addition to earning her PhD in sociology where she specialized in quantitative research.
Amy, her husband, and their son share their home with their four dogs – a Rat Terrier (Archer), Australian Shepherd (Scout), Australian Shepherd Hound mix (Ranger), plus a German and Australian Shepherd mix (Nelli). Outside of work, Amy enjoys hiking and playing with her dogs, exploring new restaurants, and traveling. She also enjoys the arts, including seeing plays and musicals, plus visiting art museums and botanical gardens.
