Compassion Fatigue: Recognition, Treatment, and Prevention

1.0 credit hour

Veterinarians, Technicians

Course Description

This course will provide veterinary professionals the education and understanding on how Compassion Fatigue impacts the veterinary profession and how we can work together to recognize, treat, and prevent. It provides tips on combatting compassion fatigue including the QPR tool that aids in effective intervention in a crisis situation. With a high prevalence of suicide in veterinary medicine it is critical that we have the education and resources to support our colleagues. This presentation will also teach PAWS — practice mindfulness, assess your self-care, work together, and say something.
