Sonja Richter, DVM, is a Veterinary Neurology and Neurosurgery Resident at MedVet Columbus.
Dr. Richter attended Boston University where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Chemistry and a minor in Biology. She then earned a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Western University of Health Sciences College of Veterinary Medicine. Following earning her veterinary degree, she completed a rotating medicine and surgery internship at Gulf Coast Veterinary Specialists, and a specialty internship in neurology and neurosurgery at Tufts University Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine.
Dr. Richter enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine but has particular interests in neurology, neurosurgery, sports medicine, and rehabilitation. Her favorite part of practicing veterinary medicine is developing relationships with animals and their families and being able to make a positive difference in their lives.
When not treating patients, Dr. Sonja Richter enjoys hiking, reading, and drawing. She is also very passionate about canine behavior and training, competing in competitive sports with her dogs. Together, they have competed in Disc Dog, FastCAT, and Barn Hunt.
