Sam Hollister, DVM, is an Emergency Medicine Veterinarian at WestVet Boise, where he has been making significant contributions since 2024.
Dr. Hollister earned a Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Florida State University and later completed his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree at the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine. He completed an internship with a focus on emergency and critical care at the Arizona Veterinary Emergency & Critical Care Center.
Dr. Hollister’s passion for veterinary medicine encompasses all its facets, with special interests in cardiology, emergency and specialty care, neurocritical care, and respiratory emergencies. He finds the most fulfillment in being able to help pets and their families during difficult times and making meaningful connections. He appreciates the little victories, like a wagging tail or restored appetite in ill patients.
Outside of his professional life, Dr. Hollister enjoys aviation, gaming, hiking and camping, and listening to and performing music.
