Pedro L. Rivera Puig, DVM, DACVS-SA, is a Board-certified Veterinary Surgeon at MedVet Dallas, where he has been a member of the team since 2023.
Dr. Pedro Rivera Puig attended the University of Puerto Rico, Rio Piedras Campus where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Interdisciplinary Studies. He then earned a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine. Following earning his veterinary degree, he completed a rotating medicine and surgery internship at BluePearl New York, and a residency at the Pittsburgh Veterinary Specialty & Emergency Center.
Dr. Pedro Rivera Puig has a special interest in small animal surgical oncology, reconstructive surgery, orthopedic surgery, neurosurgery (especially intervertebral disk disease), and trauma. His favorite part of veterinary medicine is maintaining the human-animal bond and improving a pet’s quality of life.
When away from the hospital, Dr. Rivera Puig enjoys sports cars and customizations, saltwater aquariums, and free diving in Puerto Rico.
