Angela E. Varela, DVM, PhD, is a dedicated veterinary intern at MedVet Chicago, contributing significantly to the team since 2024.
Dr. Varela began her academic journey at Northeastern Illinois University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in biology. She continued her education at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, earning a Doctor of Philosophy degree (PhD) in biophysics. She then earned a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Veterinary Medicine.
With a special interest in radiology, Dr. Varela’s favorite part of practicing veterinary medicine is integrating her medical expertise with her love for animals, working closely with pet families to develop the best care plans for their cherished companions.
Outside the hospital, Dr. Varela enjoys spending time with her family, reading, and taking long walks with her dogs.
