Michael A. Zimlich, DVM, is an Emergency Medicine Veterinarian at MedVet Mobile where he has been part of the medical team since 2016. As a native of Mobile, Dr. Zimlich attended Troy University where he earned a degree in Marine Biology and Auburn University where he earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree.
Following his graduation from veterinary school, Dr. Michael Zimlich practiced veterinary medicine in a mixed animal practice in Baldwin County for three years. He decided to pursue his interest in feline medicine and pain management and transitioned to a small animal practice. Prior to joining MedVet, he worked for Zoetis, presenting product information regarding sedation, obesity, oncology, and antibiotic therapy to local veterinarians in the Gulf Coast area.
Dr. Michael Zimlich enjoys all aspects of emergency medicine with particular interest in feline medicine, dentistry, and pain management. He currently serves as the Treasurer of the Mobile Veterinary Medical Association.
When not treating patients, Dr. Zimlich enjoys being outside in coastal Alabama, fishing, gardening, and canning. He loves spending time with his family and taking care of his chickens, four dogs, and 13 cats.
